Dryer vent cleaning Sacramento: The Dryer Vent Cleaning Wizard of Sacramento was saddened to hear of a recent dryer fire that claimed the lives of 15 cats in an animal shelter.

The cats were in cages waiting to be adopted. The entire cat-sheltering area, laundry, and offices were destroyed. Damage was estimated at $500,000.

The fire occurred just after midnight, the dryer was running at the time; however, there was no one at the shelter when the blaze started. Word spread quickly about the fire and 10 shelter volunteers went to the scene to help firefighters rescue 10 other cats and all 14 dogs. The dogs were able to escape injury because of a glass door separating them form the area where the fire broke out.

A woman living in an upstairs apartment was sleeping when her daughter’s pit bull-boxer mix, Baby, began barking to wake her up. Though she did have operating smoke detectors, she did not hear them go off. She was very grateful for the dog barking and jumping on her. Employees are saddened by the loss of the cats; but, thankful for those that were rescued. Some of the surviving animals are being cared for by humane society staffers; others are at a veterinary emergency service.

The decline allowed cold air to cause steam from the dryer to liquefy and become trapped in the pipe, already clogged with lint. The flexible duct material, sagging between the joists allowed the lint and water to pool in a low spot and block air flow from the dryer.

I take pride in my work and my relationship with my customers. I explained why the dryer vent system she had was not in compliance with current safety codes. I installed a new dryer vent system made of rigid metal, and strapped it to the joists properly so that it led to the dryer vent at a slight incline. The customer was very happy to have her dryer operating safely and efficiently. I promised to contact her every year for dryer vent cleaning service.

Firefighters had to rescue the black and white Staffordshire terrier, Daisy, who had poked her head into a hole which was to be used to install a dryer vent. It took 30 minutes for firefighters to remove some bricks from the outside of the property and then chisel away at the area of the wall surrounding the dog’s head to free her. Other than a few minor scratches to her face, she was unharmed; her vet checked her over and gave her a clean bill of health.
